The New Frontier - Modelling and Simulation for Cyber Security and Cyberspace
The Centre for Strategic Cyberspace Security + Science promotes and conducts modelling and simulation (M+S) for cyber security and cyberspace through co-operative scientific research and exchange of information, addressing the complete scope of cyberspace, cyber warfare, cyber defence technologies, and operational cyberspace domains.

Modelling and simulation refers to the practice of creating a model to represent a real-world process, such as the flow of cyber attacks through a network, and exploring the effects on the model of simulated ‘what if’ scenarios and conditions. The information gained through these simulations can be used to enhance the effectiveness of real-world security processes, and increase their efficiency.

Our Focus is to define the benefits derived from risk modelling and simulation technologies applied to cyberspace, cyber security, cyber-related threat methodologies, and cyber attack to gain a more complete understanding of cyberspace and cyber security risks, and to solve security problems.

Our Mission is to promote the use of modelling and simulation in ever-increasing application to cyberspace and cyber security, and to provide a forum where the scientific basis for these applications can be enriched through collaboration, innovation, education, and research.

Our Vision is to be the leader of the modelling and simulation community, thus drawing individuals who develop, teach, study, and use modelling and simulation technologies related to cyberspace and cyber security to gather at our centre, share ideas, network, and push forward the boundaries of cutting-edge modelling and simulation for cyberspace.

This effort is supported by an executive CSCSS/CMSC committee that directs and facilitates collaboration through CMSC studies, workshops, conferences, symposia, and other forums through which researchers can meet and exchange knowledge and information.
