WASHINGTON, D.C, LONDON, UK, April 24, 2014 - The Centre for Strategic Cyberspace + Security Science (CSCSS) and Board of Directors is pleased to announce the formal approval of nominees to the CSCSS Select Intelligence Committee on Cyber Intelligence by Chairman Richard Stones, CSCSS SVP Cybercrime Intelligence and Associate Chairman Richard Zaluski, CSCSS President, CEO and Ranking CSCSS Board Member for critical cyber intelligence participation in the Select Committee. The CSCSS lead Cybercime, Cybersecurity and Cyber Intelligence Group / C3i Group works to reduce the vulnerability of national infrastructure to e-terrorism and other cyber-threats.
The Committee will work in collaboration with public-private industry, government, and academia, leveraging strategic interagency and international cyber-counterintelligence community partnerships to safeguard intellectual property (IP) and technologies, which, if compromised, would dramatically impact innovation, competitive intelligence, and economic- national security.
The establishment of the Select Committee on Cyber intelligence will provide leadership through CSCSS and C3i to deliver a proactive stance on cyber intelligence and provide for the sharing of certain cyber threat intelligence and cyber threat information between elements of the private-sector + intelligence community to share cyber threat to address the threat proactively.

Specifically, the Intelligence Committee will include but will not be limited to:
- Strengthen the CSCSS/C3i role as an advocate for productive exchange of ideas in the cyber and intelligence community
- Make available C3i Group investment to provide information available on relevant cyber issues and productive dialogue on global cyber and intelligence capabilities to address these issues faced by the public-private sectors.
- Support C3i Group and its membership by preparing, reviewing, approving and/or making recommendations on cyber intelligence
- Provide content for events, publications, workshops, education and training, white papers, and other CSCSS Resources; promote CSCSS C3i Group membership and support within the community.
- Oversees nomination and recommendation of recognition programs for CSCSS C3i Group within the cyber intelligence community.
- Coordinates activities and collaborates with strategic partners (NCA, NCBF, Homeland Security, Defense, Intelligence, Small Business and Technology).
As a key point the Committee will work with interagency partners and the security industry to provide direction and leadership to industry, focusing on the intrinsic risks and threats posed by: potential shortcomings in the cyber information security infrastructure; actions of non-state actors, cyber- terrorists, and criminals; foreign business competitors and governments intent on illegitimately acquiring proprietary information and trade secrets.
The Committee was commissioned in December 2013 and by mandate of the CSCSS Board of Directors and Executive Branch. The Committee is “select” in that membership is by invitation only and comprises (limited to) 15 members representing the public private sector, the “cyber” industry, and academia. The committee will also focus to coordinate and enhance CSCSS / C3i Groups outreach to the cybersecurity community, industry, and to cultivate a spirit of partnership among the public and private sectors.
