Cyber Security and Insider Threats: Volunteers Wanted for Psychology Research
In collaboration with The Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford and the University of Leicester we are seeking organisations to volunteer to participate in a study that will examine the psychological indicators associated with insider threats.
Sponsored by the UK Government via the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure, this particular study, run by Professor Whitty, is examining the relationship between psychological characteristics, social media and productive / counterproductive behaviour in UK organisations.
This study will run for 7 months and during this time the volunteers, with informed consent, will complete a set of online questionnaires. The first phase will comprise some general demographic questions and some standard psychological tests of personality. After 3 weeks you will be contacted again to complete a further set of questionnaires examining your psychological state and asking you some questions about how you use IT and your feelings about workplace behaviour. These questions will be repeated twice more at intervals of 3 months to determine how your attitudes and feelings may have changed over time.
Participation should take no more than two and a half hours over this entire period (about half an hour each time) and can be done at any time that is convenient to you. You have the option of completing the study on your mobile phone. As a special thank you, all participants will be invited to enter free prize draws with prizes of £500, £1000 and £2000 after phases two, three and four respectively.
Participants must be from the UK, further details of the study can be found here.
If you or your organisation are interested in participating in this study then please respond via email: [email protected]
